Phelps stars in Louis Vuitton’s latest campaign

It’s only been 2 days since the Olympics Closing Ceremony and Louis Vuitton has already gotten Annie Leibovitz to snap up Michael Phelps for their latest campaign. Phelps is dressed in a buttoned-up suit while chatting on a couch with 77-year-old former Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina, who, between 1956 and 1964, won 14 individual Olympic medals and four team medals. She held the world record for most decorated Olympic athlete until Phelps topped it less than two weeks ago.

Adverts: Louis Vuitton

Speaking of Fall 2012 Advertorials, y’all remember the Louis Vuitton show with the men carrying the luggage, the train and all the works really? Well, they deconstructed, moved to a studio and reconstructed the train to shoot the Ads with the same backdrop, photographed by Steven Miesel.
“We wanted to continue the journey we started with the fashion show — the glamour of travel and the romance of going somewhere, We wanted to maintain the comfortingly luxurious and old-fashioned journey that the collection represented. Opulence, the brocades, the beautiful cuts of the suits, and I guess, the distant romantic glamour of travel,” explained Jacob who serves as Creative Director of the house.
